Warner Music announced the launch of a cryptocurrency campaign
on September 29, the global music and entertainment company Warner Music Group announced a partnership with NFT marketplace OpenSea. The collaboration is aimed at popularizing selected music artists and expanding their fan base in the Web3 community. According to a press release, the collaboration between the two organizations will allow WMG musicians to get early access to a new OpenSea feature that will allow them to launch their NFT collections on personal pages.
Shiva Rajaraman, Vice President of Products at OpenSea, shared his thoughts on the collaboration with Warner Music Group: «NFTs represent a new creative environment for artists and musicians. It is a mechanism for creating a community, communicating directly with fans and expressing themselves without borders and language barriers.»
Oana Ruksandra, Executive Vice President, Business Development, WMG, also noted: «Central to the DNA of music is community — artists and fans coming together to support the music they love. Our collaboration with OpenSea helps foster that community by providing Web3 tools and resources to create opportunities for artists to engage more deeply with their audiences.»
The first collection of music NFTs is currently being developed with Warner Records UK in collaboration with Web3's Probably Nothing. According to WMG, this collaboration is the latest one aimed at developing the music company’s experience in the Web3 space.
