Fuzzy Head will soon premiere at the Slamdance Independent Film Festival. The film was fully funded by Untold. io, a blockchain-based crowdfunding platform. The festival is Oscar-accredited, which means that the winners are automatically included in the competition program of the main American film award.
According to Ali Aksu, CEO of the Untold. io blockchain platform, filmmakers can use the platform to democratize the process of financing their films, and thus create equal opportunities for accredited and non-accredited investors.
«The most important aspect of integrating blockchain and digital currencies into the film industry will be the use of a new asset class for all types of investors. Fans will also be able to get involved in the creation of movies by purchasing NFTs,» Aksu said.
The Untold. io CEO believes that this way of financing modern films, as well as screenings at international festivals, will help make blockchain technologies more visible. In turn, independent filmmakers will have a realistic prospect of finding funding for both the creation and promotion of their works
