A 50-year-old soccer goal will be sold using blockchain technology

One of the most famous football clubs in Spain, Futbol Club Barcelona (FCB), has announced the launch of an NFT video dedicated to the 50th anniversary of a football goal.

As it became known, the FC Barcelona team and BCN Visuals developers created a 40-second NFT video dedicated to the legendary goal scored by Johan Cruyff in 1973. The auction for the unique non-fungible token will take place on July 29 at Sotheby’s New York. Online bidding has already begun on the auction website, with the last bid at $ 32,000.

This is not the only integration of FC Barcelona into the virtual space, as the club previously released its own NFT collection, which was popular among football fans. FC Paris Saint Germain is not far behind, selling NFT tickets for friendly matches in Japan worth $ 220,000 each. The premium tickets provided access to a «closed» stadium room and a VIP party after the match, where token holders could talk and take pictures with football stars.
