Ethereum founder recommends cryptocurrency for those who do not believe in the «green» blockchain

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has recommended investors who do not believe in the success of the Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism to invest in Ethereum Classic (ETC).

In his speech at the Ethereum Community Conference (EthCC), Vitalik Buterin said that he believes that the transition of Ethereum to the green blockchain is important for the project’s development. However, for users skeptical of PoS, Buterin advised investing in Ethereum Classic (ETC), which was launched in 2016 as a hard fork of Ethereum.

According to Buterin, Ethereum developers will soon begin the final phase of the blockchain’s transition from the Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus mechanism to Proof-of-Stake (PoS). As a reminder, Ethereum developer Tim Bako recently named September 19 as the day when the merger could take place. The proposed date did not meet with objections from other developers. The transition of Ethereum to a PoS network is expected to reduce energy consumption by 99%.
