Ethereum founder stands up for the «green» blockchain
Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, defends the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) mechanism — Buterin criticized supporters of the Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus algorithm who spread rumors about the «green» blockchain.
As Buterin said on Twitter, equating the idea that PoS involves voting on protocol parameters with the idea that PoS is a security is «nonsense.» The reason for this statement by the co-founder of Ethereum was a tweet by a user under the nickname @NickDPayton: «Dear Proof of Stakers! The fact that you can vote for something to change its properties is proof that PoS is an unregistered security.»
«A small grammatical point: in English, when we talk about things like proof of stake, we don’t say 'it's a security', we say 'it's safe'. I realize that some of the nuances are difficult to understand, so I apologize for the mistake. Nodes reject invalid PoS and PoW blocks. It’s not complicated,» Buterin wrote.
Also, small grammar nuance: in English when talking about things like proof of stake, we don't say «it's a security», we say «it's secure». I know these suffixes are hard though, so I forgive the error.

In early July, Vitalik Buterin already defended the Proof-of-Stake mechanism, all because of accusations by Bitcoin developer Jimmy Song that the protocol does not offer a decentralized consensus. As Buterin explained in his tweet at the time, Jimi Song’s accusations were unfounded: «Pro tip: if there’s a long tradition of people arguing between, A and B based on deep arguments involving math, economics, and moral philosophy, and you say: B is wrong because of its technical features, you’re probably wrong.»
