Cardano founder predicts the future of bitcoin in 5 years

Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano and CEO of Input Output, shared his predictions about the future of bitcoin on his YouTube channel.

According to Hoskinson, in 5 years, there will be more bitcoins outside the main chain than inside. The father of Cardano is convinced that BTC will be used by all kinds of decentralized programs, smart contracts, and even governments at the official level.

Hoskinson is convinced that there is no need for an energy-intensive consensus proof-of-work algorithm for BTC, as there are synthetic versions of the largest cryptocurrency that can function on other blockchains. «A wrapped [wrapped] bitcoin is still a bitcoin,» the Input Output CEO emphasized.

Hoskinson is also convinced that the new recommendations of the US government will not bring anything good to bitcoin and other crypto assets. He explained that a report by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, which calls on federal agencies to create environmental standards for mining, could lead to a complete ban on bitcoin.
