The founder of the famous cryptocurrency exchange will fight against the aging of humanity

The pharmaceutical startup of Coinbase CEO Армстронг «href="https://noworries.media/biography/brajan-armstrong/» data-bio-id="3684">Brian Armstrong has raised $ 40 million to treat biological diseases associated with aging.

According to a press release, NewLimit was backed by venture capital firms Dimension, Founders Fund, and Kleiner Perkins. Also, former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, entrepreneur Elad Hil, venture capitalist Harry Tan, and Coinbase co-founder Fred Hersam invested in the project privately.

NewLimit wants to solve the problem of aging by epigenetic reprogramming of living cells (changes in the human phenotype or genotype). The project also seeks to develop a treatment for neurodegenerative and infectious diseases. The team has not overlooked the regenerative medicine segment as well — Armstrong plans to develop products that will help in the rapid healing of wounds.

«We believe that epigenetic reprogramming is a turning point in aging research. We hope to encourage others [інвесторів] to participate in advancing this field,» NewLimit said.

The startup was founded by Brian Armstrong and Blake Byers at the end of 2021. It is not yet clear when exactly NewLimit will present commercial products and at what price. However, the project founders previously assured that the company’s products would be available to all consumers.

This is not the first time that major crypto market players have founded medical startups. Earlier, we talked about Hoskinson Health & Wellness Clinic, the brainchild of Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson. Patients of the clinic will be able to pay for medical services using ADA, a native token of the Cardano ecosystem.
