Thanks to blockchain technologies, Ukraine has raised more than $ 1 million to help the military

Ukraine has managed to raise more than $ 1 million to help the military — all thanks to an NFT museum dedicated to the chronology of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

According to the initiators and founders of the Meta History UA project, representatives of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, 803 ETH(about $ 1.3 million) were raised from the sale of two NFT collections. All the funds received have already been transferred to the Aid For Ukraine cryptocurrency fund.

It has also become known that today the Ministry of Digital Transformation has launched a third collection of non-fungible tokens called Warline, the proceeds of which have also been promised to Aid For Ukraine. The founders of the museum described the key goals of creating such a virtual space: to preserve the memory of wartime events in Ukraine; to disseminate information among the global digital community; and to raise funds to support Ukraine.

Despite the war in Ukraine, the country is actively developing in all areas, and the cryptocurrency sector is no exception. On March 16, Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the draft law «On Virtual Assets», which regulates the responsibilities of crypto exchanges and other service providers. On June 20, Ukraine received observer status within the European Blockchain Partnership (EBP). The country’s representative was Oleksandr Borniakov, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation for IT Development.
