Hockey players will start getting paid in bitcoins
Agents of well-known North American hockey players have said that their clients playing in Europe are having huge problems with payroll. They have to wait for the money to be transferred to the international banking system and credited to their accounts. Analysts believe that cryptocurrencies will be a solution for athletes.
Agent Pat Curcio emphasized that he sees huge potential in hockey players signing contracts that will be recorded on the blockchain and receiving their salaries in cryptocurrency. According to him, finding a bank, transferring money, fluctuating national currency rates, and waiting for a cross-border payment to arrive are serious problems for his clients. Recently, the problem has been exacerbated by the geopolitical situation in the world.
Cursio said that he is a co-owner of LOCKER Token. This company allows players to receive salaries in cryptocurrency, which greatly simplifies and speeds up access to money. His company already cooperates with European hockey players Jace Hawrluk, Corey Emmerton, and Justin Azevedo, as well as NHL players Tyler Seguin, Vince Dunn, and Nolan Patrick.
Cursio noted that his firm will soon announce its first partnerships with entire teams and possibly a European league.
