Revolut has launched its own cryptocurrency token
Revolut has launched its first stablecoin, the EURR, pegged to the euro. Initially, it will be available to a select group of users in three countries: Denmark, Poland, and Portugal.
The EURR is issued by Bridge, a company owned by payment giant Stripe. This partnership underscores Revolut’s serious ambitions in the digital assets market.
The stablecoin will be integrated directly into the Revolut app, making it accessible without the need for third-party wallets or exchanges. This approach significantly lowers the barrier to entry for everyday users.
Revolut is thus capitalizing on the growing demand for euro-denominated digital assets in Europe. Euro-pegged stablecoins are gradually gaining popularity as an alternative to dollar-pegged counterparts such as USDT and USDC.
The company has not yet specified exactly when EURR will become available to a wider audience.
