Apple top executive loses job over comment to blogger on TikTok
Tony Blevins, a senior executive at Apple, was fired after he joked in a viral TikTok that he «admires women with big breasts.» Back on September 5, TikToker @ItsDanielMac filmed a video of Blevins getting out of his Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren with his wife. The blogger asked Blevins what he did for a living. «I specialize in cars, play golf and fondle women with big breasts. I also take days off and rest on major holidays,» the former tech giant’s employee replied.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Blevins said that he was sorry to everyone who was offended by his remark, but he believes that Apple made a mistake. According to the ex-CEO, he devoted more than 20 years to the company. «These 22 years dissolved in about 25 seconds of video,» Blevins said. «I was extremely shocked. My whole life has been with Apple. I tried to be the most loyal person. They humiliated me and damaged my reputation.»Apple refused to comment on Blevins' words. Instead of finding a replacement for the disgraced manager, the company simply reassigned the employees who reported to him in the company’s operations division.
Blevins' dismissal provoked mixed reactions from his former colleagues — some said they had never seen Blevins behave unprofessionally, while others argued that the sexist remark in the TikTok video crossed the line, so the dismissal was justified.
However, not all former employees of the tech giant Apple become famous for their reputational losses. Recently, we told you that the developer of the Apple iPod Classic, Tony Fadell, started working on a Ledger/">new cryptocurrency wallet called Ledger: the developer came up with a unique design for the updated device and used a stack of fiat currency as a reference for the visual. Each future device will be equipped with magnets that will allow cold wallets to be connected to each other in a stack, as if it were a stack of banknotes.
