The total wealth of the richest crypto billionaires has decreased by about $ 116 billion this year, according to Forbes. The CEOs of cryptocurrency exchanges BinanceЧанпен Чжао" href="https://noworries.media/biography/chanpen-chzhao/" data-bio-id="3681">(Changpeng Zhao), FTXСем Бенкман-Фрід" href="https://noworries.media/biography/sem-benkman-frid/" data-bio-id="3697">(Sam Bankman-Fried), and Coinbase (Brian Армстронг «href="https://noworries.media/biography/brajan-armstrong/» data-bio-id="3684">Armstrong) lost the most.

Of the 17 crypto billionaires, 15 have seen their fortunes more than halved. Thus, Changpeng Zhao’s capital decreased from $ 65 billion to $ 4.5 billion, Sam Bankman-Fried's from $ 24 billion to zero, and Brian Armstrong’s from $ 6 billion to $ 1.5 billion.

The co-founder of the closed cryptocurrency exchange FTX, Gary Wang, lost his entire capital of $ 5.9 billion. Twin brothers Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, co-founders of the Gemini cryptocurrency exchange, lost $ 2.9 billion each.

In addition to the bear market, the bankruptcy of one of the largest trading platforms FTX was the reason for such losses. Its founder, Sam Bankman-Fried, was extradited to the United States, where he was released on $ 250 million bail.

A day earlier, we published a rating of the largest cryptocurrency platform hacks in 2022.
