CryptoQuant: altcoins are on the verge of collapse

CryptoQuant CEO Kee Young Joo expressed the opinion that most altcoins will collapse in the near future. He emphasized that the altcoin sector is suffering from a lack of capital inflows, while liquidity is only moving between positions without attracting new investments.

According to him, the capitalization of the flagship crypto market has grown since the last all-time high (ATH), doubling to $ 2.15 trillion, while altcoins are showing a decline. The total capitalization of the altcoin sector at its peak amounted to $ 492.52 billion, but by December 2024, it had fallen to $ 451.28 billion.

The expert noted that the current state of the altcoin market can be described as an «antagonistic game» where participants' wins and losses balance each other. This means that the sector does not attract new resources but only redistributes the existing ones.

Kee Young-ju emphasized that only those altcoins that have strong use cases and compelling narratives will survive. He also recalled his previous predictions, where he warned that the upcoming altcoin season would be «different» and more difficult for most crypto assets.
