Bitcoin whale moved 61 BTC after 11 years of inactivity
Wlile Alert notes: on June 22, 2025, an unknown bitcoin whale moved 61 bitcoins for the first time in more than 11 years of inactivity BTC $117,873.80 Bitcoin 0.25% Market capitalization $2.34 trillion VOL. 24 hours $0.93 billion . The virtual coins have been stored on the wallet since November 2013, when the owner received 3000 BTC — at that time, the value of this amount was approximately $ 61,000, and today this amount is equivalent to about $ 30 million.
Part of the coins — more than $ 2,000 in bitcoins — was transferred to the Gemini crypto exchange, with a transaction fee of only $ 4.57. According to the online data, the wallet had almost 239 BTC left on its balance after the transfer.
Experts often attribute the activation of such old addresses to profit-taking or asset shifting for additional security. According to the Alva analytical account, such transactions can affect short-term market sentiment: traders are watching to see if this will lead to massive selling or just internal rebalancing.
This is not an isolated case: in May of this year, another sleeper whale moved more than 2,300 BTC, which was also a notable event on the market. Such activations have historically coincided with key turning points in the crypto market.
