Paolo Ardoino: Tether could become the largest bitcoin miner in the world
Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said that Tether could become the largest bitcoin miner in the world by the end of 2025. He made this statement in a podcast, emphasizing that the company’s main goal is not to make a profit but to protect its assets. Tether owns more than 100 thousand bitcoins BTC $106,763.65 Bitcoin -0.08% Market capitalization $2.12 trillion VOL. 24 hours $1.26 billion and is committed to participating in network security to protect these investments.
Ardoino noted that for companies with small capital, it is more efficient to simply buy bitcoin rather than invest in mining. However, for Tether, given the scale of its investment, it is important to be part of the network security infrastructure.
Currently, the company is actively diversifying its business: it is engaged in mining, invests in crypto projects, and supports enterprises with digital assets. According to Ardoino, mining is part of the concept of «sustainable energy,» which Tether considers key to long-term sustainability, along with stable money, communications, and intelligent solutions.
He also added that he believes the company’s market valuation of $ 515 billion is significantly undervalued, given Tether’s scale and development plans.
