According to Lookonchain analysts, in April 2025, one wallet allegedly linked to the attackers received more than 12,000 ETH from the THORChain and Chainflip platforms, which amounted to almost $ 24 million at the then-current rate.
Soon after, these assets were sold at an average price of $ 1932 per ETH. However, at the end of June, the same wallet bought back almost 5 thousand ETH at $ 2495 per coin. Thus, the losses on this cycle of transactions amounted to almost $ 7 million.
Analysts ironically note that «hackers are bad traders» because even with large sums of money, they could not avoid serious financial losses.
Earlier it was reported that in June 2025 alone, the crypto industry lost almost $ 112 million as a result of hacker attacks, and in the first half of the year, total losses amounted to more than $ 2.1 billion, which was a record for the market.
