Standard Chartered analysts predict bitcoin’s growth to $ 200,000
Standard Chartered experts have released a forecast that bitcoin BTC $109,764.33 Bitcoin 0.30% Market capitalization $2.18 trillion VOL. 24 hours $1.78 billion could reach $ 200,000 by the end of 2025. The report, prepared by Jeff Kendrick, Head of Digital Asset Research, states that the traditional bitcoin pricing model based on halving no longer works as a key benchmark. The current cycle, according to the bank’s analysts, is significantly different from the previous ones due to the emergence of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and an increase in institutional purchases.
According to the forecast, in the third quarter of 2025, bitcoin may update its historical high of $ 135,000, and by the end of the year, the price is likely to surpass $ 200,000. This optimistic scenario, according to Kendrick, is due to the expected further inflow of funds into ETFs and active purchases of bitcoin by major players.
The bank’s analysts also note that previous cycles of bitcoin development were accompanied by a correction about 18 months after the halving, but this time the situation is changing due to new market factors. The forecast takes into account the enhanced role of ETFs, which ensure investment stability and lower volatility compared to previous years.
Interestingly, this report was published against the backdrop of a recorded outflow of more than $ 342 million from spot bitcoin ETFs during the month, which indicates the instability of short-term flows, but does not refute the long-term expectations of experts.
Standard Chartered also believes that by the end of 2028, the price of bitcoin could rise to $ 500,000 due to further institutionalization of the market and the expansion of the use of cryptocurrency as an asset for investment.
