Cryptocurrency experts predict that the number of digital asset owners will grow to 4 billion

12:10 pm, September 1, 2025

According to the forecast of former hedge fund manager and well-known cryptocurrency supporter Raul Pal, the number of crypto assets users in the world could reach 4 billion by 2030.

Pal noted that the cryptocurrency user base has been growing by an average of 137% annually for nine years and reached 659 million people by the end of 2024. For comparison, by the end of 2000, the number of Internet users was 187 million with an annual growth rate of 76%.

According to his estimates, in 2025 the growth will be about 43%, and by 2030 the number of cryptocurrency users may exceed 1 billion, and later reach 4 billion, which is about an eighth of the world’s population.

In addition, Pal predicted that the market capitalization of cryptocurrencies could exceed $ 100 trillion over the next decade and even reach this mark as early as 2032. He explained that inflationary currency depreciation and the mass adoption of digital assets could be key factors in this growth.

However, some X users were skeptical of the estimates. They point out that the number of cryptocurrency wallets does not always reflect the real number of people, as one person can create several addresses. Mr. Pal replied that a similar situation exists with IP addresses on the Internet, so the data remains indicative.
