Cryptocurrency trader moves $ 44 million worth of bitcoins after 12 years of inactivity
The owner of a cryptocurrency wallet that has remained inactive for 12 years has transferred about 400 BTC worth $ 44 million. This was reported by Lookonchain analysts.
According to Arkham, the funds from this address were distributed to several wallets, with most transactions taking place in batches of 15 BTC. After the transactions, the wallet balance was reset to zero.
Analysts note that the first coins to this address came from miners about 15 years ago. The owner’s identity and motives remain unknown.
During the period of hibernation of this wallet, the value of bitcoin increased from $ 135 to $ 122,149, which emphasizes the scale of the profit that the owner received by activating his funds.
Lookonchain also noted the activity of a major Ethereum holder: five months ago, he sold 1857 ETH for $ 4.18 million at $ 2251, and recently bought back 1501 ETH for $ 6.17 million at $ 4114. In August, it was reported that another dormant investor transferred 750 BTC to Binance after 12 years.
