Video game publisher and developer Atari has abandoned its ATRI crypto token

Atari has terminated its licensing relationship with ICICB and intends to issue a new token to replace ATRI.

The developer’s representatives emphasize that the licenses to use the Atari logo and other related products have been revoked since April 18, and therefore the ATRI token can no longer use the company’s symbols.

At the same time, Atari plans to issue a new token and exchange all ATRIs for it. For this purpose, a blockchain snapshot was made on April 18. The token holders were given time to exchange their ATRI holdings. There is currently no information about the new token.

«Atari disclaims any interest in a joint venture with ICICB. The websites, white papers, and social media channels associated with this project are not licensed or authorized to operate and are beyond Atari’s control,» the official statement said.

Following the announcement, many token holders sold their assets. As a result, the token dropped in price by almost half.
