YouTube competitor creates its own cryptocurrency wallet

The video platform Rumble, in cooperation with Tether, has launched its own built-in crypto wallet called Rumble Wallet. The new product allows users to directly send donations to content creators without intermediaries such as ad networks or payment services. The wallet supports bitcoin, USDT stablecoin, and Tether Gold (XAUT).

Rumble Wallet is non-custodial — users retain control over private keys and funds. The developers position it as a cross-border payment tool that provides greater financial freedom for creators and viewers. Chris Pavlovsky, CEO of the platform, emphasized that it is a combination of decentralized finance and freedom of speech.

Financial transactions for depositing and withdrawing cryptocurrency are supported by the payment provider MoonPay. Users have access to payment methods through bank cards, Apple Pay, PayPal, and Venmo, which makes it easy to integrate the wallet into everyday use.

Rumble Wallet is the first project to be implemented on the basis of the Tether Wallet Development Kit. Tether CTO Paolo Ardoino noted that the product opens up access to decentralized payments to a wide audience, including users in the United States. The launch of the wallet is a continuation of the joint initiative between Rumble and Tether, which the companies announced in 2023.

Tether is a major investor in Rumble: at the end of 2024, the company invested $ 775 million in the platform, and later another $ 150 million in cloud infrastructure and artificial intelligence. Rumble has also included bitcoin in its corporate reserves. Both companies position the project as an alternative to tech giants and traditional platforms.
