Leading cryptocurrency companies gave Donald Trump more than $ 85 million

More than 15 companies and individuals associated with the cryptocurrency industry donated more than $ 100,000 each to Donald Trump’s inauguration, totaling more than $ 85 million in contributions. According to a new report, many of them have subsequently received direct or indirect benefits from the Trump administration, from dropping legal proceedings to participating in official crypto initiatives.

Among the donors are players such as Coinbase, Crypto.com, Ripple, Kraken, Consensys, and others who have been involved in investigations by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). These cases were closed during the Trump administration. While some analysts believe that this may have happened regardless of political influence, others suggest that loyalty to the administration may have accelerated the process.

Other companies that supported the inauguration also reaped significant benefits. For example, Circle went public with an IPO, explicitly stating that it was Trump’s policies that made it possible. Galaxy Digital received SEC approval for a reorganization, which was a key step toward a listing on Nasdaq. Some, such as Crypto.com and ONDO, have entered into partnerships with companies affiliated with the Trump family.

Particular attention was drawn to participation in events such as the Crypto Ball and the Crypto Summit, where representatives of donor firms were invited. At the same time, players such as the Ethereum Foundation were ignored, prompting accusations of selectivity and lack of transparency.

Discussions about the transparency of the Trump administration’s crypto relations have already gone beyond the industry, with accusations of potential corruption emerging. Nevertheless, it remains a fact that the crypto industry has undergone significant changes during his administration, which, depending on one’s perspective, is perceived as a chance or a warning signal for the industry’s future.
