Startup of the developer of the world’s most famous artificial intelligence has developed a digital identity card based on cryptography

Sam Altman, founder and CEO of OpenAI, the company that developed the world’s most famous artificial intelligence ChatGPT, has presented his new invention. Altman’s company Worldcoin has developed a digital identity card based on cryptography — World ID.

Thanks to the World ID, users will be able to prove the authenticity of their data without revealing their identity. Currently, World ID is presented in the format of a mobile application that offers several options for confirming identity, including retinal scanning via Worldcoin Orb.

Users can link their own digital ID to a cryptocurrency wallet. The developers of World ID assure that the information is securely protected, making it impossible to disclose confidential user data.

«It is a fully decentralized, privacy-oriented protocol. Just like a user has a personal wallet, they can get a personal identifier. The information is stored on your device, you can use it as evidence with zero disclosure,» said Tiago Sada, Head of Product, Development and Design at Tools For Humanity, whose developers participated in the project.
