Unique human identification startup could revolutionize resource allocation
The WorldCoin project by Sam Altman, the man who created ChatGPT, is a technology that proves you are human. And it may be the best way to solve the issue of identity. Alex Blania, co-founder of WorldCoin, spoke about the details of the development.
He describes World ID as a scalable, open solution that does not require additional permissions and is designed to verify that a particular user is a specific person.
In short, this protocol will use zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs) to allow a user to verify their identity without having to share any sensitive information.
As explained by the WorldCoin team, this will be a game changer for identity verification solutions in terms of both user privacy protection and efficiency.
The most ambitious, most challenging thing this approach can solve is the ability to create systems for the fair distribution of scarce resources. With World ID, no one will be able to claim their share of resources (bonuses, rewards) twice.
This provides the technical basis for Universal Basic Income (UBI), a hypothetical proposal for social security with guaranteed benefits for all members of the population.
It is worth noting that starting in April 2023, all developers can experiment with the software development kit (SDK) associated with the World ID protocol.
