Telegram developer’s cryptocurrency token has grown 28,000 times

GRAM is a new token on the TON blockchain launched on January 30 this year. Since then, according to market analysts, the virtual coin has increased in value 28,000 times — from $ 0.107 to $ 0.03. At its peak, the cryptocurrency reached $ 0.044.

GRAM is distributed through GPU mining. Thus, GRAM became the first PoW token in the TON blockchain ecosystem. Mining requires a computer, a video card with CUDA or OpenCL drivers, and special software from Github, as well as accounts in MyTonWallet or TonKeeper wallets and some TON coins to pay for transactions on the network. Miners are rewarded with special smart contracts — givens — for the correct solution of a computational task.

The GRAM issue is limited to 5,000,000,000,000 tokens. About 1,750,000,000 GRAM have already been mined. Given the current rate of coin mining, GRAM mining will be completed in about 700 days — in early January 2026.

Thanks to its affordable mining, GRAM has quickly attracted users. As of March 25, 2024, the number of virtual token holders exceeded 30,000. The community calls GRAM an analog of Bitcoin for the Telegram ecosystem.

GRAM is currently traded on the decentralized platforms of the TON ecosystem — STON. fi, Ton Diamonds, DeDust, as well as in the Cryptorg bot on Telegram. The community is also waiting for a listing on large centralized crypto exchanges. Rumors about listing on them emerged after users drew attention to the transfer of large batches of GRAM — more than one million coins — to the MEXC and OKX crypto exchanges.
