The Solana network weathered an outage at its infrastructure provider and remained operational

One of the infrastructure providers whose services are used by some of the Solana network’s validators experienced a technical glitch. Despite this, the blockchain did not stop—new blocks continued to be created, and transactions were processed as usual.

Of the 699 staked validators, 597 remained active in voting—that's about six out of every seven. The nodes affected by the incident resumed operation within 40 minutes.

Validators in the Solana Foundation’s delegation program were unaffected by the incident—they operated without interruption throughout the entire outage.

Solana Foundation representative Jacob Krich noted that the situation clearly demonstrated the network’s resilience. According to him, the distribution of validators across independent infrastructure providers played a key role—it was precisely this that prevented the local outage from turning into a systemic problem.

The incident served as yet another test of decentralization for Solana, which is often criticized for insufficient infrastructure decentralization. This time, the network passed the test.
