Owner of a popular NFT collection has his tokens worth one and a half million dollars stolen
Cirrus, a member of the Proof Collective digital collectors' association, tweeted that he had fallen victim to a phishing attack that resulted in the loss of $ 1.5 million worth of NFTs. He said that in the morning he received a link from an unknown person, which he followed to conduct a transaction that resulted in the loss of his Moonbird tokens.
«Shortly after I clicked on the phishing link, I was hacked. It’s disgusting to see such things. Let this be a reminder to all of you to never click on links from unknown people and only go to sites you know and use,» Cirrus warned collectors.
Apparently, Cirrus had a hardware wallet for storing cryptocurrencies, but since the ex-owner himself approved the transaction, it is logical that this did not protect him from losing his collection — 29 NFTs were stolen.
As a reminder, hackers recently stole 4 precious NFTs from Hollywood actor Seth Green and hacked the Twitter account of artist Beeple.
