The owners of the largest cryptocurrency gaming project were summoned to court for violating the law
Stake.com, a cryptocurrency casino and sports betting platform, is facing a $ 400 million lawsuit. A former partner of the cryptocurrency platform claims that he was misled into not participating in the founding of Stake.com. The plaintiff, Christopher Freeman, is seeking damages as well as payment for his investment in the company that preceded Stake.com.
The court complaint states that Freeman was a friend of Stake.com co-founder Bijan Tehrani, and that the two decided to start the Primedice casino business. Freeman claims that he had a 20% stake in Primedice, and co-founders Tehrani and Ed Craven had 40% each. Freeman claimed that he was denied the opportunity to join Stake.com because he assumed that a cryptocurrency casino would be in demand and profitable. Later, his Primedice account was blocked.
By the way, Stake.com denied any of Freeman’s accusations, stating that they were «internally contradictory and provably false.»
Interestingly, this is not the first time a cryptocurrency casino has faced public discontent. Stake.com also had problems with the English football club Everton, which was sponsored by the crypto casino. Fans criticized the football club for collaborating with a gambling company and for developing ludomania (gambling addiction) among football fans.
