Holders of Liverpool’s non-fungible tokens did not receive more than $ 8 million
Fans of the Liverpool Football Club who purchased tokens from the LFC Heroes Club collection complained about the lack of interaction with the club and minimal returns on their investments.
It was expected that the LFC Heroes Club NFT collection would become popular in the crypto world and bring profits to both the football club and investors — more than 8 million pounds (almost $ 10 million), but it managed to earn only 567,000 pounds ($ 687,969). According to users, after the acquisition, they did not receive the previously promised access to the LFC community forum, virtual parties, updates from LFC, and discounts on LFC merchandise. In total, 9721 tokens have been sold since the collection was launched in March (out of the planned 171,072).
The situation with LFC Heroes Club tokens is rather an exception to the rule, as the collections of other football clubs are very popular and bring in significant earnings. In mid-June, the sales volume of the Paris Saint-Germain football club’s cryptocurrency token (PSG Fan Token) exceeded $ 15 billion, topping the list of the most popular fan tokens. The PSG Fan Token gives fans ownership of a stake in the club, and users get access to exclusive content and services. PSG fans can use the token to purchase tickets, merchandise, and other services offered by the football club.
