NFT tokens cause protests in America
Streetwear brand The Hundreds staged a fake protest to promote its NFT collection, which outraged the community.
The fake protest is part of the events organized for the NFT.NYC conference. On Monday, actors with signs and angry shouts took to Manhattan to attract attention. However, most people did not appreciate this stunt: the protest took place on the same day as the LGBT equality holiday and used the same slogans, rephrased for the NFT.
The Hundreds Adam Bomb Squad’s NFT collection is essentially a copy of the CryptoPunk collection. Many users have noticed this, calling the brand’s non-fungible tokens a steal. Adam Bomb Squad contains 25,000 non-fungible tokens that depict the brand’s mascot in different colors. According to OpenSea, NFTs are owned by just under 9,000 users, and the minimum price of the collection is 0.43 ETH ($ 1160).
The launch of NFT collections among well-known brands seems to have become a new trend. Thus, Lacoste, Prada, Yves Saint Laurent, TAG Heuer, and others have recently introduced their own non-fungible tokens. However, without fake protests and intellectual property theft.
